About Ali Shapiro
Ali Shapiro, MSOD, CHHC, is the founder of Truce with Food®, a holistic nutritionist, integrated health coach, and a rebel with a serious cause. Ali began her journey in health coaching in 2006, initially known as a health counselor. Driven by her personal experiences with eating struggles and health issues such as irritable bowel syndrome, depression, acne, and emotional and binge eating, Ali sought transformative solutions through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Her discovery of functional medicine enabled her to reverse her diagnoses, inspiring her to help others achieve similar health breakthroughs.
Ali’s career took off as she transitioned from a corporate job to health coaching, initially focusing on grocery store tours and individual client sessions. Realizing the need to address deeper issues beyond nutrition education, she pursued further education at the University of Pennsylvania. There, she developed her Truce with Food model, a coaching framework that delves into the root causes of clients’ food habits and behaviors.
By 2010, Ali had established her first group program to reach more people and avoid the pitfalls of trading hours for dollars. Her continuous refinement of coaching techniques allowed her to offer profound transformations, blending theoretical knowledge with practical application. Recognizing the importance of a strong product and effective sales and marketing, Ali has built a successful coaching practice.
In 2016, Ali launched her podcast to expand her reach and transition to a virtual coaching model, enabling her to connect with a broader audience. Now based in Pittsburgh, Ali continues to inspire and empower individuals through her innovative approach to health and nutrition, offering deep, transformative coaching that extends beyond conventional methods.
