Defending your limits is not protecting you.
It’s stalling your progress.
I’ve been passionately working on launching my first online book & program ready. On the journey to launching, I’ve noticed I really need to work on breaking this mindset habit: defending limits.
For example, I sometimes catch myself coming up with excuses to justify why it’s perfectly okay that I’ve missed deadlines I’ve set for myself.
“I can’t move forward with x, until my eBook designer gets back to me.”
“I still have one more test group member to hear feedback from before I can finish the last batch of edits.”
Blah blah blah…
I’m sure you can relate to the pattern of fighting for why you can’t do something.
“If I just had more time, I’d workout.”
“How am I supposed to eat healthy when I have all of my kids’ junk food in the house?”
“I love singing, but I could NEVER do it in front of people… I’m too shy!”
Statements like these do not set us up for success. If you’re looking for an excuse or limitation, you’ll always be able to find one.
At the same time, if you’re looking for a solution or a way to improve, you’ll always be able to find one.
One of my new favorite quotes: “We have to embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey.” Choose to see your challenges as opportunities for growth. By accumulating small wins each day, you’re fueling your momentum to keep going! Next time you find a new excuse or reason why you can’t make progress, choose to do ONE thing that will make the situation slightly better… and then repeat.

Let’s start fighting for all of the reasons why we CAN overcome our obstacles. No more defending our limits!
