Episode Highlights
Rather than going for Return on Investment, go for Return of Interaction!
Online marketing is all about setting up welcoming conditions BEFORE a sale.
Sales cannot take place without building know, like, and trust factor first! That’s why we want to encourage our followers to engage with us! We want the opportunity to connect with them, learn about what kind of content they find usueful, etc.
Stick with what works.
On Facebook, here are the types of posts that have the best chance of getting seen by more people due to Facebook’s algorithm (in order of best to least best):
- Facebook Lives (3-5 minutes typically)
- Short recorded videos with captions
- Question posts with the colored background
- Memes/GIFs/Animated images
- Written posts
Invite simple comments & ask questions.
If you are going Live on Facebook, make sure you’re inviting people to comment & making it super easy. For example, “Drop a 1 in the comments if you agree!”
Remember people want to feel understood.
Storytell, don’t sell.
Create addicting content.
Here are some questions that will help you create content your audience craves:
- How can I surprise and delight my audience?
- How can I make sure my audience feels understood?
- How can I give NEW and SURPRISING information?
- What does my audience need to hear today?
Tag people!
Create posts based on the feedback you’re hearing from your ideal clients. If you created a post to help someone in particular, tag them!
Be social on social media
If you like and comment on your audience’s posts, they’ll be much more likely to engage with you on your posts.
Create save-worthy posts
When it comes to getting more engagement on Instagram, aim to create posts that people want to “save.” When your post gets saved, Instagram will promote your post on more people’s feeds because it sees it as more valuable. You can invite people to “save” your post if they need a reminder, create step-by-step posts that people will want to refer back to, or share things like recipes or workouts if you’re a health coach.
