Time Management Mindset
In this episode, I discuss how to effectively develop a good mindset to better maintain your time.
You will find these ideas useful for properly planning your days and utilizing the time in your week. As a result, you will find that you will see more results with effective time management.
How to Properly Plan Your Time for Your Week
When planning your days and week, you may be overthinking what should be done. Likewise, you may be even overthinking the tools you use and how to plan your days and week. As a result, this can cause a cluttered mess.
Here are some simple methods for effectively planning your week:
- Use a simple method (no spreadsheets) for planning your week
- You need to be able to easily access your plan (whether or not you have Wi-Fi)
- Keep your weekly plan together
- Maintain a list of your weekly tasks
- Use a someday list as well (explained below)
- Break down tasks into 20 minute projects
- Consider how many subcategories are in each project (for example a website has a lot of tasks included with it)
- Start with your top priorities
What a “Someday List” is:
This is for any tasks that you will need to do someday. These are for any tasks that are not to be on the current week’s list.
As you schedule out your weekly list and set your priorities you can determine what needs to go on your Someday List.
The Time Block Method
In your calendar system use time blocks. As a matter of fact, block out the time on your list according to the tasks you have determined needs to be done this week.
These time blocks can be done on a calendar app, in a paper planner, or whatever is best for you personally.
The Importance of Determining Your Personalized Best Schedule
Everyone has a different mindset and functions differently throughout their day. For instance, consider when you can get the most work done. As a result, this will help you to effectively set the time blocks that I mentioned above.
How to Determine What Your Goals Are
What are your goals? As a matter of fact, you need to know your goals and strategies to better know how to plan your time wisely. For instance, what do you need to focus more on in order for you to continue to grow and scale your business to the next level? Consider the steps you need to take to reach that goal. Where will you put those tasks in your time blocks? Be sure to consider your priorities.
Let’s Review the Time Management Mindset
In conclusion, message or contact me if you feel you are not sure what your goals are. As a matter of fact, it is crucial for you to know what your goals are and how to reach those goals. As a result, once you effectively map out a plan for that then you can better plan out your week. Likewise, you will want to set priorities and set time blocks on your calendar app or in your planner.
In addition to this, also have a Someday List for those tasks that are not realistically going to be completed this week. On the other hand, also be graceful and realize that not everything will be done in a week. As a matter of fact, this is why priorities are important. Utilize your Weekly List and your Someday List to help you map out a plan. As a result, this will help you work more efficiently toward your goals and with scaling your business.
